In 1986, several organic (European) business partners observed that the offer of, for instance organic walnuts and subtropical fruits, was too small. They decided to increase the supply of these products by means of a unique cooperation. This was the beginning of the Good Food Foundation which has officially been established in 1987.

Aims:
Our aims are setting up, managing and guiding projects in the area of organic agriculture. This also includes participating in and supporting of projects set up by thirds, performing independent examinations of quality, organising quality checks (by an independent authority) and managing the brand Good Food.

Products:
Sultanas, apricots, figs, hazelnuts, lentils, chickpeas, dried mangos, peanuts, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds are some of the products which are being cultivated with support and guidance of the Good Food Foundation.

In practice:
The Good Food Foundation has its own office in Izmir, Turkey. From here, four Turkish masters of agricultural science support and advise farmers in several projects. One of the things that the foundation takes care of is, for example, making sure that there are enough alternative pesticides available when deceases or plagues occur. The Izmir office is also an important link in the communication with companies that process and export the several products from the members of Good Food.
